Riverside’s clothing room is up and running thanks to some very special volunteers who sort, display, and sell the clothing at minimal cost.

 

Better known as Riverside Mall, the purposes of the clothing room are to help provide Riverside staff with clothing needs, to be a mission to needful folk in the area who can buy decent clothing for a nominal fee, and to provide additional income for the school.

 

Riverside Mall is dependent upon the many individuals and churches who donate and deliver good used clothing and/or household items.


A particular need at this time is children’s clothing.

Occasionally, Riverside staff and school are in need of good used furniture.  Please contact us regarding any furniture you may wish to donate.

We have been fortunate to have a number of donations of good used office equipment such as copiers and printers from businesses, churches or individuals as they purchase newer equipment.


We have continual need for 20 lb. Copy paper, colorful cardstock and construction paper, sharpies, whiteboard markers, and looseleaf notebook paper.  We have a variety of printers needing toner or ink cartridges.  Please check with us regarding the cartridge or toner type if you have some to donate.

Riverside’s library is in better shape than it’s ever been, thanks to friends who have donated new or almost new books and have helped with processing those books.


However, we have two weak areas: the elementary reference section and the high school reference section.  Please contact us if you can help update these areas.


Another need is support of magazine subscriptions.  This is an ongoing expense for the school.

Riverside has its own school lunch program, providing nutritional and delicious lunches for students and staff for a minimal price.  Students with low family income receive free or reduced-cost lunches.

 

Riverside also provides for staff a pantry with basic food staples such as flour, sugar, and canned soup, fruit, and vegetables.

 

Individuals or groups may help by donating money or food.  Recently Riverside has received donations of potatoes, cabbage, apples, and frozen corn.  Donations of paper products such as paper plates, cups, and plastic silverware is also helpful.

 

Work groups sometimes like to treat staff and students to a special meal.  One group of men prepared and served grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, fries, and ice cream sundaes to students and staff!

In the past we have been fortunate to provide students with notebooks, pencils, gluesticks, scissors, markers, and crayons for free because of donations.  If you would like to donate these kinds of items, please check with us concerning our current need.
