Christians in Action

Mission: The title “Christian” means little Christ and as such the Christians in Action group desires to take on the servant leadership characteristics of Jesus to show love where it is needed. Philippians 2:5-7 says it perfectly,

“Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in the very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant”

In CIA, students let their light shine through acts of service (2Corinthians 4). In short the mission of the CIA is to allow students the opportunity to be little versions of Christ through acts of service and love toward their fellow students and community members.

Purpose: Riverside Christian School is proud to sponsor the Christians In Actions student group. The group will consist of students ranging in age from fifth grade through high school. The group will be focused on aiding Riverside Christian School staff and students as well as serving the Breathitt community at large. They will accomplish this through various activities that fall within their mission statement. The group will be supervised by Riverside staff or faculty members who will be present at all meetings and organization activities. The group will meet once a week or more if needed. Money for this group will be raised by its members. Any activities that involve students going off the campus of the school will be approved by the advisor of the group and the administrative committee.
